For some reason I thought it was in California. I don't think I'll be visiting there anytime soon, but thanks very much for the location :P

She does have a marker in Hollywood, a centograph that was placed there in her memory by The Jayne Mansfield Fan Club in the 1980s!

And may I add (although Hilljayne can fill in the details far better than I can) there was almost WWIII deciding where she was to be buried. Mickey Hargitay was still legally ruled as her husband by the courts, and he indicated she wanted to be buried in Pen Argyl with the family and by their plots whereas Matt Cimber wanted her to be buried in Hollywood like the other stars. I think I have that generally correct. Thus, the cenotaph is there in Calif.

Jayne's Location: N40? 51' 44" W75? 14' 24"

I live 17+ miles almost due south of Jayne's grave.

I love to survey Jayne.

New Orleans courts ruled that Jayne's Mexican divorce from Mickey was invalid and named him as her final husband. They awarded him the right of final disposition of her remains which were in New Orleans. California courts, however, upheld the Mexican divorce and named Matt as Jayne's husband for inheritance purposes. Vera and Mickey felt the body should be buried in Pen Argyl.

The family had nothing to do with the centograph planted in Hollywood. Members of The Jayne Mansfield Fan Club made donations and some funds from our membership dues were put in the fund. Sabin Gray was president of the club and felt Jayne deserved some type of marker in Hollywood since she loved it there so much. Her marker is near Rudolph Valentino's grave.

i've only recently gotten an interest in classic actresses. i've watched some kate hepburn movies, marilyn monroe but i just think jayne mansfield is hot to trot! she's got the body of a black woman (i'm black and that is not meant to be disrespectful) and the attitude of a modern woman. she's interesting. i just got a book on her and liked it. have only seen kiss them for me and a guide for the married man though.

I first heard about Jayne a few years ago in connection to Marilyn Monroe. Also, I remember seeing her on the cover of Hollywood Babylon by Kenneth Anger. I always thought she was beautiful, but didn't know much about her until a few months ago.

Anyway, I was flipping through the channels one night and ended up watching the Arena Blondes documentary. (Not just once, but twice that very night!) I was very intrigued by her life story. I immediately felt drawn to her. I wanted to learn more about this fascinating woman. I knew right away that there was something very special about her.

The next day I ordered the box set and waited impatiently for it to arrive. The first Jayne film I saw was The Girl Can't Help It and from that point on I was hooked. I have since seen most of her movies (except for 4 or 5) and started to collect vintage magazines featuring Jayne, photos, and other Mansfield-related memorabilia. My interest in her went from mere curiosity to full-blown obsession in a matter of months. I am totally addicted to Jayne! But I wouldn't have it any other way! :) She is an inspiration to me. I deeply admire her ambition, confidence, personal strength, and intelligence.

I got into Jayne just by surfing the net years ago. Actually, I knew who she was since there was a small pic of her in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue one year when they were saying what bathing suit models need to look like these days. Funny how that changed in 20 years... Also, embarrassingly enough, I met Mariska years ago and had no idea who she was, but years later made the connection. It all worked out though, as I have a relative really high up in the Law and Order production food chain, so I've met her a few times.
Both women are very smart and Jayne seemed really charming from what I can see. Too bad no one these days can take themselves as lightly as Jayne could.

Hi all
I have always loved old movies I saw my first one at 10 years old (I am 28 now) and I always thought it was all glamourous and was hooked. I then saw 'The Girl Can't Help It' through my dad as he is a 50s Rock n Roll collector and he had it because of Eddie Cochran etc being in it, Jayne came on the screen and I thought WOW she is amazing she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen and I was transfixed. 18 years later I know it's late lol but I now started to buy everything I can on Jayne. My aim is to find as many magazines with her on the cover that I can frame and cover my home with xx
