Was I imagining things at the Academy Awards this year when the Academy did not show a clip of bombshell Sheree North in their 'Remembrance' montage? Sheree died in November of last year or did Sheree's death miss the deadline for her to be mentioned in this year's Academy Award Remembrance montage? I certainly hope it was an oversite that will be corrected next year. This is a woman whose career spanned 5 decades in film, television, and stage and honouring her and remembering her for her achievements should not be forgotten. I certainly hope the Emmys don't make this oversite.

Now--ON Topic...I wasn't born until the (ahem) early 1970s but when Jayne died in 1967 was she shown in a clip the following year at the 1968 Academy Awards during THEIR Remembrance montage? I have always wondered this. Maybe someone who was around then knows.

Hil,
Besides the Academy not acknowledging Sheree North`s departure they forgot:
DON ADAMS
DARREN McGAVIN
BOB (GILLIGAN) DENVER.
Just a few obvious omissions.
I didn`t see the 1968 show but I`m sure they mentioned Jayne.
At least I hope so !
BTW, Jon Stewart was BORING (YAWN)

Don't be silly! We know there are no Greyhound busses running in Pen Argyl and vicinity.

Jayne's Location: N40? 51' 44" W75? 14' 24"

I live 17+ miles almost due south of Jayne's grave.

I love to survey Jayne.

She died from complications of cancer surgery. Yes, she knew Jaynie and MM.

 How sad! Sheree changed by herself so she did not look like Marilyn later, true? She did not want to hurt Marilyn if she copied and challenge? :?:

She just wanted to concentrate on acting and not necessarily be a big star. She became a respected character actress.

I wasn't old enough to see the Academy Awards in 1967 (in fact never heard of them til the 1970's) but I am pretty sure Jayne was not mentioned as I don't believe they ever did any of those posthumous tributes until 1981. That was the first one I saw with Mae West and other stars who died in 1980. I know they did not show anything 1978-1979 and big stars like Joan Crawford and Mary Pickford died during that period.

The Oscar show has changed so much. I saw a tape of an early 70's show and it was shocking how low-key it was. They presented Best Actress and they didn't show any clips - heck nobody even applauded each individual nominee (!!!!) - it was so unglamorous you would have thought it was a local bowling trophy ceremony.
