All:
I want to wish you all a Merry Jayne Mansfield Christmas and a Happy 2007!
I have a little gift for all, but I especially want to dedicate this to Charlie, that nice girl "down under".
Remember months ago I promised summer pictures of the region where Jayne was buried? Well, here they are! A little late, but they were taken in August when I took my parents on a "daycation" trip when they were visiting me from Florida. I wanted to show them our old cabin area---- we once owned a cottage near where Jayne is buried and the area is familiar to us. Here it goes:
This first link is what one sees as they approach Wind Gap from Rt 33 as they look at the mountain near where Jayne is buried. We used to call it the "pipeline" and my father and I once hiked up that steep mountain to fly a kite!

This next link is the typical scene one can see coming into the town of Wind Gap. The wihite "cross" between the two signs is a "mast" from the Galley restaurant where we sometimes eat.

As we pulled into the cemetery in Pen Argyl next to Wind Gap, we could see Jaynes grave about 50' (17meters) off the road. One day I'll have to survey that better and get a more exact distance.

Jayne's tombstone approaching the front!

This is a typical view of the backside of her tombstone. All us fans leave something there!

Here's the close-up of the picture on the backside!

When we approached Jayne's grave, we were looking south away from the mountains. If we turn around and look north toward the mountains, we see this!

AS you can see, this is a peaceful, quiet and solitary cemetary---- I think it's about 11 acres (or 3+ hectares) give or take a little. I have to "resurvey" it one day and find out for sure. But it's clearly a medium-sized, lone country cemetery where I can spend time with Jayne ----- ALONE!!!!

Hope you like these pictures, and again, Merry Christmas all!
