Las Vegas entertainer Englebert Humperdinck (who also knew Jayne) bought the house in the 70s and he had it on the market to sale for well over 10 years. He sold it to someone and he claimed he thought they were going to remodel it but they actually demolished it and some of the other homes they bought in the area. Englebert knew what was going to happen though. It's a tragedy. There isn't much left in Hollywood of Jayne's legacy and the thing about that house is that everyone who wnet by always knew that it had been hers and knew that at one point she was there. Terrible!

Ohh lucky! I remember hearing Jayne used to sell her used bath water. Could you imagine someone still having it after all those years?

^I think she was just teasing about that, however, you never know with Jayne! I'd love it! There are also rumours that she sold hair from her hair when she would get a haircut. Her robe that I have has make up stains on the collar and also a dress of hers I have does too!

I don't think it would be a bad idea! I'm sure a lot of fans would LOVE owning anything that once belonged to Jayne, whether it be her clothing or her hair.
I guess a lot of stars don't realize that there are some people who would actually value things like that. Jayne was once a young fan herself so I'm sure she related to her own fans in that way.

That's EXACTLY why she did some of the stuff she did, NMM. She knew what it was like to be a fan and collect pictures and magazines. She always wanted to make sure all of her fans had enough pictures and autographs. And it was genuninely her love for people, it wasn't political at all.

So now that the pink palace is gone and the other homes around it has also, how much is all this land now worth and what would it cost to have the home rebuilt even if it is not in the exact position.

Remember the origianl pink palace stood on around 3.5 acres of land, so can you imagine what all the other lots add upto. Probable bigger than the Heffner site? I reconk it is worth around $16m around £8m. To rebuild the house with all the mod cons $1m or £250k - £500k

I don't think that this developer is going to build anything on this site for the time being as it has been an empty lot now for a number of years.

 Really! I read something from magazine said that her house tried to remove the pink away so put the white on it but it stays pink forever, is that strange? True? I don't know for sure! Do you hear or know it? :?:

I read that Englebert or whoever had the house repainted pink. Wow, that would be scary if the pink didn't come off! I guess maybe that's Jayne's way off telling them to keep the house as it was when she lived in it 8)

I have always dreamed of living in a house just like Jayne's! A Pink Palace with its own zoo and everything heart-shaped! The interior looked beautiful. My favourite was Jayne's pink bathroom! :P
