Is it true Mama Cass owned the Palace? Also did Ringo ever actually live there? I wonder if he bought it because it had belonged to Jayne? Who actually bought the house after Jayne died?

I chatted with a friend of Cass Elliot's, and he and Cass' sister both said that
she never owned the Pink Palace. Cass had moved into her last home in the
Spring of 1967. The thing that makes the most sense is that Cass most likely
stayed at the Beverly Hills Hotel, known as the Pink Palace, while her home on
Woodrow Wilson Way was being readied for her to move in.

If I'm not mistaken, it's the Greenland (or possibly Greenlin?) family
that first bought the Pink Palace after Jayne's death.

Ringo owned the house for awhile, apparently just as a party pad when he
was in town. With Sonny & Cher living next door at the Owlwood Estate, I
bet some wild parties were had at the Pink Palace. When Ringo wanted to
sell the place, he had it painted white. It was white when Engelbert bought
it, and he said the color didn't show off all the great lines, so Enge had it
repainted.

I emailed a guy who is good friends with Engelbert's kids. He went to tons
of parties at the Pink Palace. With Engelbert off touring all the time, I bet
his kids threw some crazy shindigs there. The guy I emailed said that
Michael Jackson's house, where he died, was just across Sunset Boulevard
from S. Carolwood Drive, where the Pink Palace formerly stood.

That's geat Ken! Thanks so much for the info.

I often wondered why Mickey or Matt didn't get to keep it on as a home for the Children but I suppose everything had to be sold to make it fair for all of them x

When Jane died, my mother, sister and I moved to the mansion to stay with the kids, my mom stayed in Jane's room, the red velvet room, everything was red, including the inside of her shower, the bed was heartshaped, her closet had all of her dark fur coats, mink, sable, etc.
my sister and I shared the pink bedroom, also with a heart shaped bed, her closet here was filled with white and cream colored furs, we would wear them and model.
This was the best house to play hide and seek in, if I remember some 32 rooms in all, the living room was all white with a white baby grand, white shag carpet and these 2 massive white stuffed dogs that peared over the living room.
Swimming in the pool was so awesome, it to was heart shaped as well as the jacuzzi, inside the pool you could here music and looking down into the water read, 'I Love You Jane'.
Jane loved little dogs, out back was a kennel full of these little yelping dogs, it use to drive the Limo driver crazy, they always barked when he was around.
Her kids were really happy we came to stay, they were lonely and somewhat sheltered, Mariska was younger than I, she was more my little sister's age, but, Micky Jr, I called Micholas was cool and my age, we became friends and did everything together, once, I found out he was a boy. He had longish hair at the time and at first, I thought he looked liked he could be a boy or a girl, I remember, asking him if he had any Barbie Dolls? and he replied with ' I don't play with dolls, boys don't play with Barbie's, I have GI JOES, ooh! I replied with, 'so your a boy,'of course I am 'stupid' and that was the beginning of a very long time crush, he was my king, my new bf and we were inseperable. Their is so much that when on in that house and the neighbor's, 'Jamie Lee Curtis' another playmate, I could go on and on, but for the privacy of others, I will stop here. I will never forget the awesome time we all had there, inspite of their mother Jane just getting killed in front of them, as well as selling your awesome house, so sorry.
