When Jayne died back in 67, what was it like?
I know it brought devastation to her family, but I'm trying to equate it with Michael Jackson's sad passing.
Did the world's media encamp outside the gates of the pink palace?
What about her fans, what did they do?
Did they bring tributes to the gates of the Pink Palace?
Or didn't people do those sort of things back in the 60's?
Who spoke to the media on the behalf of the family?

I ask all these questions as I feel besides Jayne, only Michael Jackson could bring so many people onto the streets.

I know Mickey did interviews and there were huge crowds at her funeral.

Thank you Hez for your reply.
I did not realise that Mickey was the one who spoke to the media on the behalf of the family. I thought it might have been Jayne's Publicist.
May Mann speaks of a media frenzy that took place when Jayne died.
I pray that the Jackson children will not have to go through the litigations that Jayne's children had to endure at the time and at the same seeing their inheritance dwindle away in legal fees.

I emailed a source who told me that when Jayne died, she was in the media every day, similar to Michael Jackson. No official statements were made, but Matt was interviewed by the LA papers, but Mickey had given most of the other interviews. I wonder if Jayne Mansfield was the first in a bread of celebrities who had this sort of media intrusion?

I WAS BORN IN 67 - In England, there is no reason for me to have any interest in Jayne, but I have an unexplicable interest in her, my mum has always said I look like her, I have had frequent, quite violent dreams about her and what seems to be her life...especially her passing - before I even knew who she was, as a child I told my mother of a dream where my children were safe but I was dead. I AM SANE by the way but after over 35 years of these feelings, dreams and weird kind of flashbacks of conversations that aren't anything to do with me, I've plucked up the courage to try & find some answers and to be quite honest the more I find out the more it freaks me out.
